COACHING PROGRAMS:
As a non-profit, member-run organization it’s important as a Community Club that we offer our SunCoast BC youth the opportunity to discover the game of tennis or improve their skills – they’re the future! But we also offer coaching for adults too - whether you've just moved to the Coast and want to join a club for regular tennis, have just picked up a racquet after way too long or just want to brush up on your skills and techniques, then you've come to the right place.
Our year-round Sr. Club Coach, Jacques Joyal, is now assisted by Keith Lewis, our Jr. Pro. They are at the centre of our coaching program and tennis camps, which also involves recently qualified Club members who have qualified as Tennis BC Community Tennis Assistants. In addition, Kelly Pham has recently qualified as an Instructor and can help you with youth and beginner coaching. Both Jacques and Keith are on hand to help whether you want to be coached one-on-one or in small groups. Coaching is open to anyone interested in tennis. We welcome non-members.
All Coaching programs take place indoors at our community indoor tennis centre at Suncoast Racquet Club, 6000 Lighthouse Avenue, Sechelt.
What to bring? We supply all tennis equipment. Please wear/change into indoor sport, non-marking shoes. Bring your refreshments and if you have a racquet that's great. If not, the Coach has racquets you can use in the session. Balls are provided by the Club.
Adult Programs
Adult Tennis Coaching Program - Improvers/Refreshers - this course requires experience and the ability to rally.
Adult Tennis Coaching Program - Beginners - this course is designed for complete beginners.
Individual coaching with Club Coach also available on request & subject to separate payment.

Youth Development
Our resident Sr. Club Coach Jacques provides weekly coaching programs for various age groups and abilities. Jacques is always talent-spotting for our Future Youth Stars, so if you are interested or have a budding tennis player in the family, do get in touch.
We also have two support Youth Funds to help families financially with tennis coaching for young tennis players who have been assessed by Jacques. If he believes they have real potential and the drive to go far with the game, we offer either of our two funds. These are our general SRC Youth Fund and the Paul Meyer Endowment Scholarship Fund. We are also always looking for more dontations to these funds, as we wish to provide as much financial assistance as possible to truly eager, talented tennis youth.
