Become a Member of the SSTA

Joining the SSTA is easy: Choose the appropriate package at the bottom of this page and pay for your annual rolling membership by credit card online. The standard options are Adult ($60) or Junior ($15) member. 

Note: The SSTA is an all-volunteer run organization and as a member you will be expected to participate to help the club and facilities continue to run smoothly.   (This applies to all Adult memberships, but there may be times when we will ask for help from Junior players and their parents).  As a new member you will be contacted by a member from our  Participation Committee.  Be prepared to choose a role.  This page  provides information about the many roles available  to choose from.   

Your membership is valid for one year (365 days) from the date of purchase. You will receive regular club news by email. You gain access to the indoor courts, booking up to two weeks in advance and paying for your court time online. You can also participate in numerous tournaments, both fun and serious, throughout the year. Regular indoor play in skill-defined leagues is available October through June. There are also social and fund raising events to enjoy.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIPS

When purchasing a junior membership please create the ClubSpark account with the Parent/Guardian's name and details. Within the membership form parents/guardians will be able to add the details of the junior member.

How can I pay for my membership?

SSTA’s new membership management system is integrated into the ClubSpark site. You will be able to renew, activate and pay for your membership online. ClubSpark accepts payment via VISA, MasterCard or Interac debit card (with CVC). Arrangements to pay by cheque can be made if necessary.

Who can book indoor courts at the Salt Spring Tennis Centre?

Adult members only may book time slots for play at this time. Membership is open to all BC residents.

When and at what time is the Salt Spring Tennis Centre open?

The indoor tennis centre is open 365 days a year from 6am to 11pm. 

How do I book a court at the Salt Spring Tennis Centre?

You must be an active Adult Member and registered with ClubSpark to book courts online. The booking page is in the Members Only tab. If you run into a problem with the online booking system please email: info@saltspringtennis.ca

Can junior members book a court at the Salt Spring Tennis Centre?

No. Junior Members have access to junior progams and leagues. An Adult Member may book a court and invite a junior member to play. 

How do I pay for a court?

While booking your court time online, the system (ClubSpark) will collect the fee. The system accepts payment via VISA, MasterCard or Interac debit card (with CVC). No other payment options are available; ie, Paypal, eTransfer, cheque and/or cash are NOT accepted.

How far in advance can I make a booking?

Adult Members can book 14 days in advance. 

How much does it cost to play tennis at the Salt Spring Tennis Centre?

Fall/Winter/Spring - $15 for 30 minutes (including tax); The Off-peak rate of just $8 for 30 minutes applies 6-9am and 8-11pm.Summer - $8 for 30 minutes (including tax).

Adult membership runs 1 year (365 days) from date of purchase.

Eligibility: Ages 18 and over. As an SSTA Member you agree to contribute as a VOLUNTEER. Our Volunteer Co-ordinator will contact you to help you choose a role.

Adult Temporary 2 Week Membership

2 weeks membership

This temporary membership is perfect for those who are visiting the island or who want to try out tennis at SSTA.

Eligibility: 18 years old plus

Junior Annual Rolling Membership

12 months membership

Annual membership for junior players 17 and under. Membership grants access to junior programs for 1 year (365 days) from payment date.

Eligibility: Ages 5 to 17. Junior members and their parents may be occasionally asked to volunteer to help support the Club.

Junior Temporary 2 Week Membership

2 weeks membership

This 2 week membership is perfect for anyone 5-17 years old who is visiting the island and would like to play tennis at SSTA. It is also ideal if you would like to try tennis for a short time period before committing to an annual membership.

Eligibility: All individuals 17 years or younger. Must be supervised by an adult to play on the SSTA courts. Must wear clean indoor court shoes.

Marjorie Blackwood Tennis Clinics

2 weeks membership

Insurance coverage for Marjorie Blackwood Clinics scheduled for Oct 19/20, Nov 9/10, 2024 and April 5/6 2025.

Eligibility: These clinics are by invite only from Marjorie Blackwood. To inquire, please contact Marjorie directly at marjorieblackwood@msn.com.
