A warm welcome to a summer of tournament play at South Cowichan Lawn Tennis Club, where the love for tennis converges with the beauty of tradition.

Nestled in a picturesque setting, our club takes pride in hosting three prestigious tournaments each year, including the longstanding Vancouver Island Grass Court Championship, celebrating its 137th year.

 

 

 

 


2024 Grass Court Classic

Hosted by SCLTC annually for all Canadian players with a Tennis BC and other provincial tennis memberships. This is a sanctioned tournament by Tennis BC.

2024 Kay Wilson Memorial Mixed Compass Event

A very popular Kay Wilson Memorial Mixed Doubles Compass tournament is hosted annually, which brings out 32 on and off-island teams. This tournament is established in memory of Kay Wilson, a dedicated member of SCLTC and a former nationally ranked tennis player.

137th Vancouver Island Lawn Tennis ITF Masters - ITF 100 Sanctioned

An annual tournament hosted by SCLTC since 1887. As one of the oldest continuously run tennis clubs in the world, this tournament predates Wimbledon because it has not stopped even during the wars. In 1994, this tournament won an award from the USTA for the “best run sanctioned tournament”. 

This tournament is now an  ITF sanctioned Masters Tournament for 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+ & 80+.  It stands as a testament to the rich tradition of tennis and remains a focal point for tennis enthusiasts locally and beyond. 

(An ITF IPIN number is required for registration which is included in the registration fee)
