Court rules and etiquette
Court Protocols
- The code to the gate is to be kept strictly confidential and for use by CBTC members only.
- Guests must be accompanied by a member; guest fees apply.
- There is a maximum of 4 players per court during regular sessions.
- No pets, roller skates, scooters, skate boards, bikes, radios, etc. on courts.
- Keep the gate closed when courts are in use.
- Lock the gate when you leave if courts are not in use and scramble the lock code.
- Brooms are available to clear debris from courts, as well as towels to disperse rain or dew.
- Court lights can be turned on for play in the evenings (until 11:00 p.m.), and must be turned off when leaving if no one else is on the courts. The switch is on the lamp post up the small hill from the gate.
- Last players on the courts must turn off lights at night and lock gate. Don't forget to scramble the lock code.
Etiquette
- Always respect play in progress when entering or leaving the courts. Wait for other players to finish their point. When there is a pause in the action move quickly to/from your court.
- If your ball is accidentally hit into another court, wait for the players on that court to return it.
- Proper behaviour is to be demonstrated both on the courts and around the Club house.
Attire and Equipment
- Proper tennis attire must be worn; shirts are a must, as well as non-marking athletic shoes.
- Come prepared with your own balls, towel, water to drink (please no juice, soda, etc. on the courts as they can cause damage to court surfaces).
Club house and patio
- Chairs, a picnic table and table with an umbrella are available for relaxing on the patio.
- Access to the Club house including washroom facilities and water fountain is limited to when clinics are running.
