Previous CTC Instructors
Cassandra Chan (2017 – 2018)
International Coach / Program Director of Tennis (PDOT)
Cassandra had extensive international programming experience and expanded our junior and adult programs, offering more classes that reached players of all levels. She also ran a lot of exciting club events, including — for the first — a season ending members' tournament!
Cassandra was US Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified with more than 8 years of international coaching experience in America, Indonesia, Hong Kong and the Maldives. She's previously held the tennis director position in various high-end luxury resorts in Indonesia and the Maldives for Jim Courier Tennis. She had also worked in prestigious schools, upper-class residences, exclusive private country clubs and on competitive university teams.
As a high-performance player, Cassandra earned a scholarship and played #1 singles and doubles for her university team in the United States. During her freshman year, she received the MVP award. As a junior, she captured the singles national champion title of her country.
Cassandra had a real gift for engaging with our members. She ensured the tennis learning experience was enjoyable as well as educational — especially for our juniors!

Hubert Karrasch (2017)
International Guest Coach / Tennis Professional
In July 2017, we were very honoured when Hubert Karrasch came to Collingwood and offered to run some tennis lessons for our members, giving us the opportunity to learn from a former ITF world no. 1 Over 35 singles and Over 45 doubles professional tennis player!
Mark Renneson (Third Shot Sports) (2015 – 2016)
Coach / Program Director of Tennis (PDOT)
Mark moved from Vancouver to Collingwood in September 2014. In 2015 he assumed responsibility for overseeing all CCTC adult and junior programs. Mark was a 19-year veteran tennis coach who knew a thing or two about what helped make tennis programs awesome. Having earned Coach 2 and Club Pro 2 certifications from Tennis Canada, Mark was the most highly-certified coach in the Collingwood region. Mark had extensive knowledge of what it takes to create a learning environment that is safe, fun and effective. Working for both Tennis Ontario and Tennis BC as a course facilitator in their instructor certification programs, Mark had a background of finding and developing great teachers. Mark earned BA and MA degrees from the University of Toronto (where he was captain of the tennis team for 5 years) as well as a BEd from the University of British Columbia. In his role as Program Director, Mark was responsible for overseeing all tennis programming at the CCTC.
Teaming up with Third Shot Sports in 2015 allowed the CCTC to attract and bring on a fantastic group of other professional tennis instructors as well...
Laura Vlahovic (2014 – 2015)

Laura returned to the Collingwood Community Tennis Club in 2015 as the leader of the Optimist junior programs. In addition to being a fully certified tennis instructor, Laura could also be found on the hill coaching skiing, and on the water as a sailing instructor. She also competed for the University of Toronto in both tennis and squash. Laura's enthusiastic attitude coupled with her deep understanding of progressive tennis and teaching children, made her a huge asset to the CCTC coaching team. She was an exceptional athlete who brought her expertise to the CCTC all season long.
