Introduction

Welcome to the new on-line look of the St. Albert Tennis Club!

This is new for 2025 and, like all new internet things, there will be bugs and confusion for a while. We have made this change to simplify our Membership, Court Booking and Program sign-ups and to benefit from the services of Tennis Canada and the Club Spark program for tennis club management.

Registration - you need to set up an account with Club Spark to join the St. Albert Tennis Club and to register you or your children in our programs. Click the Register button at the top right of this page to begin those processes.

After you Register:

Membership and Program bookings - if you are looking to sign up for a Membership, click the "Membership" tab at the top of this page. To look at our Instructional programs and to sign-up to one for yourself click the "Adult Coaching"  tab or for your Junior and Youth members, click the "Coaching" tab.

Courts -  can be booked after May 1 by clicking the "Court Booking" tab.

Payments -  are managed through the "Stripe" payment system. It works just like the "Bambora" system you have used in previous years to pay for Memberships or Programs with us.

Club-Organized Drop-In Tennis Sessions

SATC has scheduled Drop-In Sessions and Programmes at various playing levels to provide Members with playing opportunties to suit their schedules and to meet other Members. You can see these sessions identified in the Club Calendar above. Keep reading here for a brief description of these programmes.

LOBSTERS - 9:00 am - Noon -  M,W,F

Defensive lobs are a part of tennis, even the pros do it, but it happens a little more often in senior tennis. The "Lobsters", many of whom are retired or semi-retired, welcome players at the 3.0 - 4.0 level for competitive but friendly doubles play on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:00 am to noon. Many Friday sessions end up with a BBQ and social hour at the Clubhouse.

NIMBLEDONS - Time slot 9:00 am to noon, Tuesday and Thursday

This is very much like Wimbledon except you don’t have to wear white…okay, there is no grass and no prize money… but it is tennis! “Nimbledons” has been an entry point into our programs for many SATC new members. It is aimed at 2.5-3.5 level players, who want exercise, a chance to improve their skills and an opportunity to meet other players of various ages and skill levels. Games are competitive but because playing partners change through the morning, the emphasis of the program is on recreation, meeting like-minded players, learning from more skilled players and above all, having fun. The time slot means that the majority of the participants are retired but everyone is welcome.

How each session is organized depends on the number of participants. If there are fewer than 16 players, then no formal procedure for time of play or mixing up of players may occur unless agreed upon by those playing at the time.

MONDAY LADDER - 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm  (Mondays....duh)

To play in the Monday Ladder you must sign the registration sheet at the club each Monday around 5:40 pm. The first 20 can participate, play is doubles but individual player points are tracked. Like last year, court assignments will be solely based on points. The more you play and win the more points you can rack up.  Therefore, a good player that only plays periodically most likely will not be on court "one".  First session in 2025 is May 12. Everyone is welcome, the point is to play with people of a similar skill set and to try to climb up the ladder.

S.Y.S.T.E.M. – Saturday mornings (7:00 am – 10:00 am)

Attention all early birds!

Start  Your Saturday Tennis Early in the Morning

This group has been arriving at the courts early Saturday mornings for a few years now but would like to extend an invitation to all members to come out and join them from 7:00 to 10:00 am. Lots of camaraderie and non-competitive tennis (singles and doubles) to be had for all who want to be a part of the SYSTEM.

FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIAL TENNIS  - 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Over the years, Friday night has evolved at SATC from a highly competitive session to one where food and beverages as well as mixed doubles are the current package. From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm come for the tennis, the social time and some BBQ action and non-alcohol beverages (at a great price), BYOB (beer and wine only please) if you like. Mo, your host, guarantees a good time....if the weather cooperates.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT "NEW" MEMBERS -  6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Courts are available from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm to give new members a chance to meet other newcomers as well as  members  and to learn more about various program sessions, play tennis and leave with contact info for their next game. All members are welcome!
