FUNSPORTS Event coming to Windsor

We have some exciting community news! Gordon Hughes Tennis Club-Windsor is thrilled to announce that we are officially hosting an upcoming FUNSports Association multi-sport event on our courts.

FUNSports is a fantastic volunteer-run organization dedicated to breaking down financial barriers. They provide children from low-income and public housing backgrounds with completely free access to sports equipment, facility time, and coaching.

At this upcoming session, local youth will get hands-on introduction and training in three fantastic sports:

  • Tennis 🎾
  • Lacrosse 🥍
  • Soccer ⚽

  • Date: Saturday, June 27th
  • Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Location: Gordon Hughes Tennis Club-Windsor
  • Rain Date: Sunday, June 28th

Meet the FUNSports Super Squad Coaches!
The kids will be learning from an incredible lineup of elite athletes and leaders, including:

  • Dave Green: FUNSports Founder and former Olympic sports therapist.
  • Marvin Okello: EDIA Coaching Support Specialist with Sport Canada.
  • Bret Himmelman: World Championship canoe medalist and Team Nova Scotia lacrosse player.
  • Andre Rampersad: Halifax Wanderers (CPL) pro soccer player & Trinidad & Tobago National Team member.
  • Ryan Telfer: Halifax Wanderers (CPL) pro soccer player & Trinidad & Tobago National Team member.

Support the Giving Promotion
To celebrate this multi-sport day, we are rallying our entire network to support the "Give 5 for High 5s!"campaign. A small gift goes an incredibly long way:

  • Just $5 helps fund the equipment and coaching needed to put a local child into the game.
  • 100% of proceeds go directly toward removing cost barriers for local youth.
