Update on Court Playability from the President.

Hi everyone, Dave Kukkonen has invested numerous hours in having our courts prepared for this season. During this process we were hit by tremendous amounts of rain that even the farmers in the region have had a hard time getting to plant their crops. I know it is frustrating having the sun out and hearing that the courts are unplayable. We have known for several years that our courts need a major overhauling. In addressing this problem, last fall we hired an expert firm in Hartru surfaces. They came and assessed what our courts need to go through to be the least affected when they are hit by rainfall.

We received their extensive report, and we will have local contractors give us quotes to carry out the restoration process. We already know that the cost we are looking at could runs around $300,000.  As a responsible Executive team, we will need to find funding for this major undertaking as this cannot be funded through our yearly membership fees.

In the meantime, we ask that you support Dave Kukkonen in his endeavor to keep our courts as fit for play as possible. We are expecting rain again this Wednesday, but after that the forecast calls for 2 weeks of sunny days that should allow us to enjoy our freshly groomed courts.

Thanks again for your understanding.
