Non-Competitive Ladder for Beginner to lower Intermediate (2.0 to 3.0)

Non-Competitive Ladder for Beginner to lower Intermediate (2.5 to 3.0)

Start date: June 1st

End Date:   July 17th

Ladder Administrator: Shelley Sikora. Text: (780) 212 1915

Fee: Free

This ladder is aimed at newer members and those looking to develop their skills through singles play but are not yet at a competitive level. Players will not be ranked, as in a regular ladder; instead, players earn a point for each set they play and an additional point for each set they win. The more you play, the more points you earn. The player with the most points at the end of the 6-week period will be declared the winner.

Getting Started:

Contact the ladder administrator via text message to have your name added to the non-competitive ladder WhatsApp group.

Rules:

Use the WhatsApp group app to challenge any player in the group and arrange a match time. The two players can decide on how many sets (1 to 3) they wish to play. Ideally, each player will play every other player in the group at least once over the course of the ladder.

Reporting Results:

After the match, a player will need to contact the Ladder Administrator with the results. She will record the points earned (1 point for each set, and 1 point for each set won) and post the results on an electronic score sheet. A link to the score sheet will be available on WhatsApp. This will allow you to check how many points you’ve earned relative to other players.

Forfeitures

You will forfeit the match if you:

  1. Can’t play due to injury.
  2. Cancel on your opponent more than once.
  3. Fail to show up, are more than a 1/2 hr late, or cancel on the other during match.

The ladder will end on July 17th, following which a winner will be announced and a small prize will be awarded.
