The Collingwood Community Tennis Club is looking for some relief from court fees in hopes of growing the sport.

Lisa Meadows from the CCTC spoke to the corporate and community services committee asking for relief of fees on five local tennis courts for two years.

She said this will help with the growth and financial stability of the club.

She said they would then re-assess the program as part of a five-year strategic plan, which they have discussed with the department of parks, recreation and culture.

The club, founded in 2012, offers programs and clinics for youth ages four to 16 as well as adults and seniors and boasts about 125 members.
