Overview + Mission

The Girls Academy is designed to increase the number of female tennis players in Atlantic Canada, both competitive and recreational. We will achieve this through: a girl-centred lesson structure, a clear pathway, and taking care with each individual athlete. Our goal is to create a community of female tennis players who are playing for fun and learning to compete in a relaxed atmosphere.

Registration

Fall 2 - Nov 3 - Dec  20 (7weeks) - $84.00

Players can register online through our website by clicking the preferred time. Players register and pay prior to the beginning of each course. 

Program

The Girls Academy is a 2 year program primarily designed for - but not limited to - 8 and 9 year old girls.

Year One: Players learn how to serve, rally, score and play at the net. 

Year Two: Players learn to maintain a rally when receiving more challenging shots, serve with improved placement, approach the net, and place volleys

Pathway

We have plenty of opportunities to compete at the Atlantic Tennis Centre. Parents and players will be informed of these events when they arise and when they are appropriate for the player’s level. There is no pressure to compete during the players’ two years in the Girls Academy, the focus is on fun and community.

When the girls graduate after two years, they have the option of joining the following streams:

-Kids Tennis Stream

-Competitive Stream

-Performance Stream

Coaches will advise each player what the most appropriate stream for them will be.
