How do I become a member of the Ajax Tennis Club

What benefits do members receive
- Members enjoy access to an Ontario Tennis Association (OTA) membership, social events, weekly socials, leagues, competitive teams, and court booking privileges—all included in the membership fee.
Can I try out the club before committing to a membership?
- The ATC does not offer trial memberships.
What are the club's policies on guest access?
- Members may invite the same guest up to 3 times per season. After that, the guest must take out a membership to continue playing at ATC.
How do I update my membership information?
- To update your membership information, please contact the Ajax Tennis Club, and we will assist you with the changes.
COURT BOOKING & ACCESS:

How do I book a court?
- You can book a court through the ATC Club Calendar using your membership login. Click on How to Book a Court for step by step instructions.
What are the court hours?
- Courts are open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The gate will be locked when not in use, so please ensure you have the access code and lock the gate behind you when you leave.
Can I play without booking a court in advance?
- While walk-on play is allowed if courts are available, we recommend booking in advance to secure your spot, especially during peak hours. Priority will be given to those who have booked the court.
How long can I book a court for?
- Playing time is scheduled in 30-minute intervals. You may book consecutive time slots if available, with a maximum of 2 hours per session. During busy periods, court time may be limited to 1 hour to ensure fair access for all members. If you require more than 2 consecutive hours, please contact the ATC Executive to discuss your request. We’ll work with you to find a solution that supports the best interests of the club and its members.
What if I need to cancel my court booking?
- You can cancel your booking through the ATC Club Calendar booking system. Please cancel as early as possible to free up the court for other members.
Are there any rules about court etiquette?
- Yes, members must follow proper court etiquette, including wearing appropriate tennis attire and shoes, removing all garbage, and being respectful of other players. Please refer to the ATC Court Rules for more information.
Can I coach or receive coaching on the courts?
- ONLY coaching from our Ajax Club Pro and his teaching staff is permitted on Ajax courts. No one can give lessons on Ajax's courts and charge a fee for those lessons.
Are courts available for both singles and doubles play?
- Yes, courts are available for both singles and doubles. During busy times, doubles play is encouraged to allow more members to participate.
Can non-members book a court?
- No, only registered members can book and use the courts. Guests can play when accompanied by a member, following the guest policy.
Can I book a court for private events or parties?
- No, the ATC courts are not available for private rental.
ATC FACILITIES
What type of courts does the club have?
- The Ajax Tennis Club has four outdoor hard courts.
Are washrooms, water fountains, or changing facilities available?
- Washroom facilities are available during club-sponsored activities such as lessons, socials, and leagues. While we do not have designated changing rooms or water fountains, the nearby Ajax Community Centre offers washrooms, changerooms, and water through vending machines. Please plan accordingly.
Is there parking available for members?
- Yes, there is free parking available near the courts.
Are there practice walls or ball machines for training?
- No, we do not have practice walls or ball machines available at this time.
Does the club have a clubhouse or lounge area?
- No, the Ajax Tennis Club does not have a clubhouse or lounge area. There is a small seating area with chairs and a gazebo for shade beside the courts. The small clubhouse next to the courts is owned by the Winter Club and is off-limits to summer members, except for access to the washrooms during club-sponsored activities.

What types of programs do you offer?
- We offer social tennis events, weekly socials, leagues, competitive teams, tennis lessons, summer camps and club tournaments.
Are there programs for beginners or players returning to tennis?
- Yes, we have social events and lessons suitable for beginners and those returning to the game.
Do you offer coaching or private lessons?
- Private lessons may be arranged directly with approved instructors. You can find the list of coaches and fees under Adult Programs or Junior Programs and clicking on Private Lessons.
Why do you play music during weekly social nights?
- We play music during weekly social nights to create a fun, casual atmosphere. The majority of members who attend these events prefer having music, especially in the evenings. Decisions about music are made based on majority preference to reflect what members want for their club. While it may not suit everyone, there are other opportunities at the club for more formal, competitive play in a quieter setting.

Is there a junior program or lessons for kids?
