Founded in 1991, the club began in the Wakefield ‘bubble’ located north of Sechelt, BC on the water’s edge below the historic Wakefield Pub. In 2004 the well-used facility was closed due to redevelopment of the property.

A hardworking SRC Tennis Club board pursued the aspect of building a new tennis facility. After much research, property was leased from the District of Sechelt. In 2006 the land, located near the Blue Ocean Golf Club and the Sunshine Coast Arena, was cleared and construction began on the Club that opened in 2008.

The all-steel structure houses two courts with state-of-the-art surfaces and lighting plus a viewing lounge, kitchen, shower/washrooms, exercise equipment and a meeting room. There is a large parking lot for several cars and outdoor events.
