Riverview Tennis Club - Rules and Policies

1. Court Bookings & Reservations

  • Booking Window: Courts may be reserved up to 7 days in advance through the online member portal.
  • Daily Limitations: To ensure fair access for all members, a player’s name may be attached to a maximum of 2 bookings per day, up to a limit of 2 consecutive hours at a time.
  • Forfeiture Policy: Reservations are held as a courtesy. If no players arrive within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, the booking is automatically forfeited and the court becomes available for walk-in play.
  • Court Re-assignment: RTC Staff reserve the right to re-assign players to alternative courts on short notice to accommodate operational, maintenance, or programming needs. We appreciate your cooperation.

2. Court Protection & Maintenance

  • Surface Sensitivity: Playing or walking on clay courts when they are too soft or wet can cause severe, costly damage.
  • Mandatory Closures: Members must strictly respect all court closure directives issued by RTC Staff or the Board of Directors. When a court is marked as closed, play is strictly prohibited.

3. Footwear & Apparel

  • Clay-Safe Footwear Required: Members and guests must wear dedicated indoor/outdoor court shoes with flat, smooth soles. Hiking boots, running shoes, or any footwear with aggressive, protruding, or deep-grooved treads are strictly prohibited to prevent gouging the clay surface.
  • Appropriate Dress: Proper athletic attire is required at all times. Clothing featuring offensive graphics, language, or imagery is not permitted within the facility.

4. Court Etiquette & Safety

  • Conduct: RTC is a family-friendly community environment. Loud yelling, screaming, throwing racquets, and profanity will not be tolerated.
  • Stray Balls (Safety First): If your tennis ball rolls onto an adjacent court, please immediately alert the players on that court by calling out "LET" or asking them to stop play. Do not run onto an active adjacent court to retrieve a ball, as this poses a severe tripping and injury risk.
  • Cleanliness: Littering is strictly prohibited. Please place all garbage, recycling, and old tennis ball cans into the designated receptacles before leaving your court.
  • Prohibited Substances: The consumption of alcohol and smoking/vaping are strictly prohibited anywhere within the Riverview Tennis Club facility.

5. Clubhouse & Court Access Hours

  • Peak Season (July – August): The clubhouse is open and staffed from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily.
  • Spring / Fall (Off-Peak): Staff hours are reduced based on availability. During unstaffed hours, active members may access the locked courts at any time during legal playing hours using the provided combination lock code. Please ensure the gate is closed and the combination lock secured if you are the last player leaving the facility.
