NOMINATIONS FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS OPEN

The Almonte Tennis Club relies on the active contribution of members who volunteer as Directors. Please consider accepting a nomination to be part of the Board. The Club is entirely member-run; consequently, your participation is VERY important to the ongoing success of the Club.

We had two members step-up late last year as volunteer board members. Rich Hoaen has taken on the responsibility of Program Coordinator of Adult Club Initiatives, and Heather Pinsky has accepted the Member Relations/Social Coordinator position, replacing Carolyn Klickermann who has tendered her resignation after serving as Social Coordinator for two years, as well as previous past stints as a board member. Many thanks Carolyn.

We are thrilled with our new additions but still have some vacancies to fill. We are always open to modifying roles to suit the interests and time of our Board volunteers.

Nominations are being accepted for the following:

Court Maintenance Manager:
– Manages routine maintenance, ongoing safety, and security of the tennis facility.

Property Manager for Future Facilities Development:
– Works in close partnership with the Municipality on capital projects to ensure court facilities meet ongoing needs.

Special Use Reservations and Court Scheduling Coordinator:
– Promotes community access through Special Use Reservations, including summer camps and professional lessons.

Executive Assistant:
– Supports the Board through the organization of meetings, distribution of documents, and recording of discussions.
– Supports the Information Officer in maintaining official documents.

Vice President/Upcoming President (note: the term of the current president has ended, a plan for succession/smooth transition is required):
– Aids and assists the President in the completion of their duties and responsibilities.
– Supports program and facility improvements by engaging purposefully with the membership and with other community groups about their interests and concerns.

HOW TO NOMINATE OR VOLUNTEER:

It’s simple. Just send an email with the name of the nominee and the position interested in. Nominations are being accepted until February 26th for Election at the AGM on March 5th.
