Wolfville Tennis Club's first Junior Tournament was a great success!
On Sunday, August 18, more than 20 juniors ages 6-16 came out for an afternoon of tennis, socializing, and food. Juniors competed in one of four categories — red ball, orange ball, green ball, and yellow ball — and each participant played at least 3 matches.
The tournament was organized by Junior Program Coordinator Stephen Brown and Junior Instructor Lacey Brown, who kept track of all the matches and scores. Stephen and other Club members, along with three of the older juniors, helped to officiate matches and fill in on the red ball courts. Many parents and guardians helped out by providing food, running the bbq and snack table, and generally devoting their afternoon (and evening) to the event.

We want to extend a big thank you to all Club members, parents and guardians, and junior volunteers who made this event possible, and especially to the junior players themselves, who showed amazing sportsmanship and camraderie, cheered each other on, and were exceptionally patient waiting for their next match!
We hope this will be the first of many junior tournaments to come!
